Founded in 1993, Unity Project of Oregon (UPO) works to improve the quality of life in the Black/African-American gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community through social change, advocacy, education and arts & culture.
UPO also works hard to foster a safe and nuturing environment for our constituents, as well as our allies.

Craig Tyson, Chair Craig works closely with the organization’s chief executive, staff, and directors to solidify UPO as a community leader in the area of advocacy and social change. He’s also been engaged in work with other community leaders, members, and other organizations with similar missions to help create synergy in their efforts.
